MALAYSIAN integrated managed ICT/ BPO (Information and Communications Technology/ Business Process Outsourcing) service provider VADS Bhd and US cloud and virtualisation giant VMware Inc have agreed to extend their collaboration to provide managed Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) and enterprise social networking services.
The collaboration leverages on VMware’s virtual desktop and cloud solutions – Horizon DaaS and Socialcast – that are hosted on VADS’ Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), VADS said on a statement.
This would provide businesses with the agility to deliver end-user computing services quickly and easily without the complexity of deploying and managing infrastructure, VADS claimed.
With the business services offered by VADS VPC, companies can provision IT services on a pay-as-you-go model, shifting expenses from capital expenditure (capex) to operational expenditure and reducing IT management complexity, it added.
Socialcast enables businesses to create a common social experience across all business applications, making conversations, people, documents, and projects easily discoverable and more actionable.
VADS first became part of the VMware Service Provider Programme in late 2012, and earlier this year received the VMware Partner Network Award in the Enterprise Solution Provider Partner of the Year category for both the Global and Asia Pacific regions.
“The VADS-VMware solution focuses on bridging the gap between the changing business expectations of availability and access, with the business priorities of performance, agility and security,” said VADS chief executive officer Ahmad Azhar Yahya.
“Businesses would be able to focus on delivering the best value, environment and resources for their mobile workforce and not worry about the infrastructure or expertise needed,” he added.
VADS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Bhd, and said it serves more than 500 medium to large businesses across industries.
