KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 (Bernama) — VADS Bhd has announced the expansion of its collaboration with VMware to provide managed Desktop-as-a-Service (Daas) and enterprise social networking for the highly connected and mobile Malaysian workforce.
The collaboration leverages VMWare’s virtual desktop and cloud solutions –Horizon DaaS and Socialcast — that are hosted on VADS’ Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), to provide businesses with the agility to deliver end-user computing services quickly and easily without the complexity of deploying and managing infrastructure.
VADS in a statement today said with the businesses offered by its VPC, companies are able to provision Information Technology (IT) services on a pay-as-you-go model, shifting expenses from capital expenditure to operational expenditure and reducing IT management complexity.
The platform provides employees with a secure, virtual workspace where end-users can login once to access all of the applications, files, social tools and online services they need from any device.
VADS’s Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Azhar Yahya, said:”The VADS-VMware solution focuses on bridging the gap between changing business expectations of availability and access with the business priorities of performance, agility and security.
“Businesses would be able to focus on delivering the best value, environment and resources for their mobile workforce and not worry about the infrastructure or expertise needed,” he said.
