VSAT stands for Very Small Aperture Terminal. It is a small satellite dish that is capable of both receiving and sending satellite signals. VSAT systems can be designed to serve both broadcast and interactive applications whether data, voice or video, which are now being served by terrestrial lines.
VSAT Ku-Band
Ease of Installation
VSAT Ku-Band network can be setup in a matter of days depending on the number of sites. The antenna dish can be installed virtually anywhere (by default wall-mounted) – on rooftops, in parking lots, or on the side of the buildings. The size of antenna dish ranges from 98cm to 1.2m depending on bandwidth subscribed. Likewise, moving the VSAT Ku-Band to a new location can be done fast. Once the antenna site has been established, our field technicians will be able to setup the antenna in hours and usually complete services on the same day.
Available nearly anywhere
The nature of VSAT Ku-Band allows its installation at virtually anywhere location within the satellite coverage – from islands to mountaintops. With this advantage, customers may setup offices in a promising location without being constrained by the availability of terrestrial lines. At the same time, customers may relocate offices to a lower cost area and still maintain the communication link with the use of TM VSAT Ku-Band links.
Uniform service levels
Regardless of where the sites located, VSAT Ku-Band offers the ability to deliver the exact same speed/service level to every single one of your locations or across region.
Network Management
VSAT Ku-Band network and remote terminal are constantly monitored proactively and managed by a qualified team of engineers at the Network Operation Centre (NOC), located at the Cyberjaya Earth Station 24 hours, 7 days a week throughout the year.
Fast Network
One of the greatest advantages of VSAT Ku-Band technology is its direct connectivity between end-points. Every VSAT link is established directly through the satellite, bypassing intermediate terrestrial lines. Hence, faulty problems with the VSAT network can be identified and fixed quickly.
Secure Transmission
VSAT Ku-Band offers maximum security while transmitting data from remote to satellite farm by using conditional access method and industry standard encryption.
Ultimate Scalability
One of the strength of VSAT Ku-Band is the ability to scale according to the customer’s requirements with low incremental cost. This is especially important as business grows over time. A new site can be added to the network by installing a remote terminal unit. Upgrading or downgrading the bandwidth over the time can be done without any disruption of services.
Affordability
VSAT Ku-Band services bring about cost saving to the customers. The advantages of the VSAT Ku-Band technology already give tangible and intangible benefits to customers. As customers add more services, you will find that the incremental cost is very low compared to terrestrial networks. The service costs are distance insensitive. The monthly fees are fixed and priced according to the network capacity, not the distance between the head-office and branch locations. As a result, customers pay only for the amount of data throughput used.
VSAT STARNET (C-BAND)
Star Network Topology
If you can’t afford a dedicated hub for your dispersed network, we have the option of a managed VSAT service handled by experienced staff for optimum service quality.
Bandwidth-on-Demand
The total satellite bandwidth allocated for your network can be altered according to your network’s traffic pattern. Furthermore, you can remove or add host computers and PABX without having to re-size the bandwidth of the network.
Scalability of Network Capacity
As the number of remote sites increases, you can also increase the bandwidth of your network.
Modularity and Open System Architecture
supports modular and open system architecture. The customer can expand the number of interfaces at the indoor unit as he requires.
Economics of Statistical Multiplexing
Multiple applications can share the same bandwidth, so you pay for lesser bandwidth, thus more cost saving.
Network Management and Control
Your network will be managed remotely at our Earth Station 24 x 7 by our dedicated and qualified staffs.
